Completed in 1993 for Arlington Securities, then a subsidiary of British Aerospace (BAE), this office development immediately adjacent to the Royal Aircraft Establishment at Farnborough Airfield comprised nine separate buildings purpose designed, built and fitted out to house BAE’s headquarters staff and several of its subsidiary companies relocating from other sites in the south east. One of the buildings was dedicated to providing support services for the BAE staff on the site, including a restaurant & cafe, a shop, a hairdresser, conference rooms and private dining rooms. Chris Boddington was the Director in charge of the project at Covell Matthews Wheatley and Mike Eliades was Project Architect for one of the buildings. At the time this was the largest design & build contract completed in the UK.
